Bio: Dr. Robert Anthony, Jr. served as curator of the North Carolina Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Library from July 1994 through May 2021. From 2010 until his retirement, he also served as Director of the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center.

He holds a B.A. degree in history from Wake Forest University and a Masters of Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Anthony is co-author of “Fifty Splendid Summers” and is a contributor to the Dictionary of North Carolina Biography, Encyclopedia of North Carolina, and Southern Writers: A Biographical Dictionary. For more than thirty years, he compiled or co-compiled the annual North Carolina Bibliography that appears in the North Carolina Historical Review.

Active in a number of historical and cultural heritage organizations, he also sits on the First Colony Foundation Board of Directors.
