The project includes excavations at a very promising site along the shoreline upriver from the location of Elizabethan artifacts at Site X. This study is expected to last 4 to 6 weeks under the supervision of FCF Vice-President Nicholas Luccketti. This will be a Phase II test excavation that will consist of removal and screening of the plow zone from 2-meter squares across the site. In addition, Dr. Gordon Watts will be conducting a survey of underwater features along that shoreline and the navigable portion of Salmon Creek. Dates for these two studies have not been established.
