First Colony Foundation Presents Research at London Conference

The Society for the History of Discoveries, meeting at the Institute for Historical Research of the University of London, heard on 9 July 2015 a research paper by FCF board members Brent Lane and Phil Evans. Their paper concerned a hitherto unknown document, discovered by Lane in a local British archive, which concerned efforts to raise money for the 1585 expedition to Roanoke. From their base in Winston House, the UNC Study Center near the British Museum, the authors enjoyed the hospitality and historical sites of London and are now preparing to publish their research in an academic journal.
